Bright pink and spunky to boot, that's Pizzazz! I made this kitchen with the thought that the bright kitchens that always feel like a big risk always sell first. All be darned if this little girl didn't leave the sales floor before I even got in on Saturday! I had to turn right around and go pick Bold Blooms back up and bring her over.
This little pink piece just kind of happened. I had plans for a darling grey and light pink piece, then somehow, I ended up with bright pink paint in my hand and away I went! Ooops! But she is going to be loved at Christmas. Grandpa and Grandma just couldn't resist when they saw their sweet little granddaughter playing away. And when she said "I want" they had to say yes :-). Check out Pizzazz.

Put a Bird on It!
Birds are very popular right now. Well, I guess they have stood the test of time as far as decor is concerned, but with the introduction of Pinterest, birds are EVERYWHERE! I don't mind jumping on that bandwagon. I have always love incorporating wildlife in to my home decor, so I love that owls, foxes, deer and birds are more widely accessible now. That being said.....a friend and I were talking about her dining room table. It was a hand me down from her mother in law and several years ago they had it stained dark. A couple moves and a toddler later it had seen better days. So I begged her to let me refinish it. She agreed and off we went on our merry Pinteresting ways :-). She had a chair that served as the color and bird inspiration for the design, but we wanted to tone it down a little. This is what we ended up with. The green is Maison Blanche Mardis Gras with a dark wax finish and the top was taken down to its original color the varnished to protect it. It is perfectly shabby :-)
The natural wood sealed with varnish
The seats have these gold birds. Just enough to notice, but not enough to overpower the table.

Secret Garden
The name for Secret Garden has a few meanings. The shop that has given me my breakthrough spot in Wichita Falls has a tea room called Secret Garden and I was reminded of the book cover for Secret Garden while making this piece. I especially love the scalloping on the bottom opening and the dailty legs.....and her door. I really just love it all :-). She is so feminine and sweet! I do believe she is sold, I will update that next week :-).
Bold Blooms
I'm back!!! If you live in the Wichita Falls area, come see my kitchens and other items at Birds Of A Feather Vintage Market every third weekend, or I will be keeping a kitchen or two at Alley Cat Collective as well. I have been missing the blog and the work, so glad to be back in it!

Reruns 4 Wee Ones
Sarah and I finally got our heads together to design the play space at Reruns 4 Wee Ones. The Art Junky will be topping off some wall details, so be on the lookout for those! In the meantime, head in to get some shopping done while your kiddos play with the new 3 piece kitchen set, work bench, giant magnet boards and kid table set. It is such a nice inviting space!!
Storage, storage, storage!!! There is a drawer under the oven door, an entire under the sink area and a fridge! Plenty of places to stash food during play!

Dress Up and Then Some!
We did a 3 piece set for Deanna's little girl before they PCS'd out of the area. It was a dress up wardrobe with a shelf that pairs with the piece to display prized possessions and a dress up caddy. It was one of those things we got done just in time! I think the movers were mid pack by the time we got our act together. Thank you Deanna, wherever you are for your patience!!
These two pieces came to us as a set and it worked out perfect that she could use them both!
Sarah's Dresser
Sarah grew up with this dresser and as we all know, looking at something for 10 years, the itch for change comes knocking. So she had it painted and it looks amazing in her room!! It is so lightly distressed, just enough that the original cherry stain pops through. If you can enlarge the pictures, please do! It really made the piece special.
