Silver Swirl

This nightstand did not have much shape to it, so it could have gone two ways.  It could have been a more boy style kitchen or I could totally girl it up.  I opted to go completely girly.  It was one of the few times I got a kitchen completed and felt like it was REALLY missing something.  Something big.  I was up against a weekend of Birds of  Feather Vintage Market being open and took it over anyway.  Once I got it in its place I was even more unhappy with it.  So the pictures you see at home are those that show it as I took it in.  I went in this afternoon and redid the backsplash.  I will get more pictures of the kitchen as a whole tomorrow, but I wanted to get out of the way so the ladies could go home :-).

Contest Kitchen!

I am soooo excited!  The winner of the kitchen giveaway should be here soon to pick her up!  I think for the limited amount of time I budgeted for this piece it turned out pretty well.  I love this fabric so much.  I brought it back from Korea along with a bundle of others before I knew what I was going to do with them.  I couldn't sew, I wasn't making kitchens at the time, I really just bought them because they were pretty.  I used this fabric on my own kids' kitchen set.  It is interesting how different it looks on this ivory kitchen as opposed to our blue ones.  I love it!  I cannot wait to see what the kids think on Christmas.  I will have to beg mom to send me pictures of them playing with it :-)

Kali

Kali turned 5 this fall and LOVES to play with her kitchen.  The problem with a 5 year old playing with a kitchen is that the plastic ones are so small.  So mom approached me about making her a big girl kitchen.  It took some time to find just the right piece of furniture, so thank goodness they were patient with me!!  When mom asked her what her favorite part of her little plastic kitchen was, she said the light.  So an over sink light sweet girl shall have!

Pizzazz!

Bright pink and spunky to boot, that's Pizzazz!  I made this kitchen with the thought that the bright kitchens that always feel like a big risk always sell first.  All be darned if this little girl didn't leave the sales floor before I even got in on Saturday!  I had to turn right around and go pick Bold Blooms back up and bring her over.
This little pink piece just kind of happened.  I had plans for a darling grey and light pink piece, then somehow, I ended up with bright pink paint in my hand and away I went!  Ooops!  But she is going to be loved at Christmas.  Grandpa and Grandma just couldn't resist when they saw their sweet little granddaughter playing away.  And when she said "I want" they had to say yes :-).  Check out Pizzazz.

Secret Garden

The name for Secret Garden has a few meanings.  The shop that has given me my breakthrough spot in Wichita Falls has a tea room called Secret Garden and I was reminded of the book cover for Secret Garden while making this piece. I especially love the scalloping on the bottom opening and the dailty legs.....and her door.  I really just love it all :-).  She is so feminine and sweet!  I do believe she is sold, I will update that next week :-).

Bold Blooms

I'm back!!! If you live in the Wichita Falls area, come see my kitchens and other items at Birds Of A Feather Vintage Market every third weekend, or I will be keeping a kitchen or two at Alley Cat Collective as well.  I have been missing the blog and the work, so glad to be back in it!

Reruns 4 Wee Ones

Sarah and I finally got our heads together to design the play space at Reruns 4 Wee Ones.  The Art Junky will be topping off some wall details, so be on the lookout for those!  In the meantime, head in to get some shopping done while your kiddos play with the new 3 piece kitchen set, work bench, giant magnet boards and kid table set.  It is such a nice inviting space!!

Storage, storage, storage!!!  There is a drawer under the oven door, an entire under the sink area and a fridge!  Plenty of places to stash food during play!

Halle aka Dear Old Friend

Halle, our Dear Old Friend, has been hanging around our shop for quite some time waiting for her family to be ready for her :-).  We have become friends with her and were especially sad to see this one go.  She has had more accessories sprayed for her than we can count and as new things have come our way we would change our minds.  We don't get our hands on too many of these "fridge" furniture pieces, but excited it is going to this family.  It was time for her to move out and onto being played with before we changed our minds, AGAIN!  We are so happy her family is home and settling back in to life here in Niceville!
